i am going to get day drunk and channel my inner rihanna.
This is my zine. I like to think of it as a manifesta, but it is in no way a definite set of rules. These are ideas I have collected and found through dialogues with other women. Read, copy, print, pass it on. Tell me your criticisms so we can make this movement stronger. This is an open conversation for all women!

My fragility appears beautiful in photographs but betrays me in actuality. I construct a house of glass, an extension of my ribcage, and hope it catches light.
I come home to an empty home,
and hope it catches fire.

A catcall is entirely about reminding you that you are not yours. The purity myth is entirely about reminding you that you are not yours. The fetishization of female purity in a world where catcalls are an acceptable form of communication telegraphs one thing very clearly:
“Women, stop sexualizing yourselves—that’s our job, and you’re taking all the fun out of it.”
The sexualization of women is only appealing if it’s nonconsensual. Otherwise it’s “sluttiness,” and sluttiness is agency and agency is threatening.
